I am so fortunate to have a generous and kind brother who flew Easton and myself out to Boston for a long weekend. We stayed with him, his girlfriend Caroline, and her family in Brookline, a thirty minute commute away from the heart of Boston. I'd never been to Massachusetts before and had two requests while we were there: I wanted to visit Harvard and see the harbor, both of which I requested with an awful Boston accent. I'm so excited to share the first part of our trip today...
First thing on Friday morning we headed out to catch a train to take us into the city. Easton promptly passed out before our commute started and I had the fun experience of maneuvering on and off the trains all day with a giant stroller, we literally carried him a few flights of stairs at one point just to reach the street. Hats off to my brother who was so helpful and made the whole experience a breeze.
Our first stop of the day was Back Bay where we walked up and down Newbury St. I immediately fell in love with the buildings and their architectural designs. The entire street was lined with the cutest shops, cafes, and restaurants. We had lunch at Sonsie where I ate one of the best cuban sandwiches I've ever had. There was a Harry Potter store which I had to visit and promptly bought Harry Potter Uno. And I'm never one to pass up a photo opportunity with a good stoop or a French Bulldog.
Next stop: Cambridge, home of Harvard. We shopped in the cutest kid's store, The Curious George Store, where I picked up two small toys for Easton. I fell in love with the houses and their bright colors. Harvard was by far my favorite visit of the day, not because of the shopping and architecture but because Easton got to run free and he loved it. He was even kind enough to sit with me for some pictures.
It was a magical day and I can't wait to share the remainder of our trip on Friday!
I'm a twenty-something mama who honestly has no clue what I want to do in life at the moment. For the longest time that scared me but now I embracing it and documenting it here.
